My background & approach
I became a midwife because of the care I received while pregnant with my third son. For the first time, I had the same midwife with me throughout - she knew me, she listened, and she respected my choices. She was there when I gave birth, and that sense of being truly known changed everything for me. I realised every woman deserves care shaped around her, not a one-size-fits-all approach, and that experience opened a new chapter in my life: I trained as a midwife so I could offer other families that same warmth, trust, and continuity.
I worked in hospitals and community settings within the NHS before moving into independent practice, where my focus has increasingly turned towards helping women and families through their feeding journeys.
In 2018, I co-founded Riverside Midwives with my colleague Jo, and we still work together under that name - Jo leads on birth and antenatal care, and we both offer postnatal care. As my own work has grown around infant feeding, tongue-tie, and oral function support, it felt right to branch out under my own name, so this side of my practice could have the space and specialism it deserves, while I continue working with Jo and Riverside Midwives for our families' wider care.
As a qualified Tongue-Tie Practitioner and IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), I support families through breastfeeding and bottle feeding challenges, tongue-tie assessment and division, and postnatal recovery. Every family's feeding and postpartum journey is different, and I believe your care should be just as individual.
